Digital Illustration - 2020

Made this illustration on July 4th, 2020, in response to the murder of George Floyd and subsequent Black Lives Matter protests that occurred in the month prior. I am proud of my Latine/Latinx heritage, and even prouder to be raised by the Latinas around me. George Floyd's murder had me realize that United States has so much work and reformation left in order to make society as equal as Americans claim the country is. This illustration was a turning point in my art style and reason for creating art, I intend to empower and educate through my work.
